We currently have an opening for a Structural Engineer in our Madison, WI location. This position, either individually or as part of a team, is responsible for the overall design and coordination of structural building related projects from inception through completion of construction.
Structural Engineer - Buildings - Madison Responsibilities:
- Organize and execute structural design efforts for multiple simultaneous projects
- Design and layout structural engineering drawings for assigned projects/work assignments including the preparation of plans, schedules and details
- Design structural systems of cast-in-place and precast concrete, structural steel, masonry and wood framing for a variety of healthcare, commercial, industrial, mixed-use and institutional buildings
- Prepare structural calculations for submittal to regulating authority
- Perform and/or coordinate the review of shop drawing submittals
- Perform construction site observation visits and prepare reports of site visits completed
The candidate hired may be eligible for a significant signing bonus.
Structural Engineer - Buildings - Madison - Skills and Requirements:
- Bachelor of Science degree in Structural or Civil Engineering and zero to three years of experience in the structural design of building projects. A Master of Science degree in Structural or Civil Engineering is a plus
- Proficiency in using Microsoft Office products; and working knowledge of AutoDesk Revit
- Working knowledge of various structural analysis and design programs including RISA 3D and RAM Structural System
- Knowledgeable in consulting and construction practices associated with design/bid/build, design/build and construction manager roles and responsibilities
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills and the ability to work independently
