UDRI is looking for an Autonomy Software Engineer to join the SPIRE group. You will contribute to a growing team with the goal of developing, implementing and improving software verification and validation (V&V) systems that reduce the required development time of AI and autonomy systems. Research includes the transition between Open System Architectures, Digital Engineering methods, applicable standards and actual flight testing.

This position also features a secondary focus on software and hardware implementation of data exploitation algorithms on low size, weight and power (SWaP) hardware. This also includes integrating hardware, sensors, etc on to custom payloads to support field and flight testing.


Minimum Qualifications
1. Bachelor's degree
2. Due to the nature of this position, US. Citizenship is required
3. Eligibility to obtain a United States SECRET clearance (or higher) is required for ongoing employment in this position
4. 3+ years of experience in Software Development
5. Successful professional experience programming in Python and/or C/C++

Preferred Qualifications

While not everyone may possess all of the preferred qualifications, the ideal candidate will bring many of the following:

1. Master's degree (or higher) in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science or related field
2. Demonstrated, effective interpersonal skills
3. Active US SECRET (or higher) clearance
4. Professional experience or familiarity with:
-- 4.1. Installing, configuring, and working in Windows and Linux environments
-- 4.2. Developing software to communicate and exchange information (e.g. commands, status, data) with hardware devices, sensors, and/or systems
-- 4.3. Implementing algorithms on low size, weight, and power (SWaP) hardware, such as Nvidia Jetson Tx2/Xavier development boards
-- 4.4. Integrating custom hardware (Sensors, GPUs, CPUs) in low SWaP payloads
-- 4.5. Source code version control systems such as Git, Subversion, or similar
-- 4.6. Software verification and validation (V&V) processes and/or tools
-- 4.7. Modeling and simulation tools such as AFSIM

A federal court on December 7, 2021, issued a ruling that suspends the COVID-19 vaccine requirement that applies to federal contractors nationwide.
