OVERVIEW
This position will provide management of fast paced, Healthcare and Research projects for client partners in one of the fastest growing, sustainable market-segments in the construction industry. In this key role, you will continue to develop your skills and experience by managing Healthcare and Research projects ranging in size and complexity from small renovations inside existing occupied healthcare facilities to large greenfield new construction hospitals and additions, labs, and medical office buildings.  Come be a part of the growing Healthcare and Research team at McKenney’s!
DUTIES & ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS
  • Responsible for managing the installation of HVAC and Plumbing (Atlanta) that meets code requirements, budget, and on time installation.
  • Asses the project to determine issues and conditions.
  • Provide innovative solutions to minimize activities that result in disruption within Client’s operations.
  • Ensure health, safety and welfare of occupants adjacent to project area.
  • Manage the equipment selection and procurement process, to include equipment comparisons and savings estimates.
  • Negotiate and prepare vendor and subcontractor purchase orders and evaluate submittals to reflect of work and specifications.
  • Oversee development of project schedule and coordinate between contractor and client.
  • Monitor/control construction through site visits, meetings, calls, and documentation to ensure is completed on schedule and within budget.
  • Represent in project meetings, assist in negotiations/strategy meetings, etc.
  • Prepare and manage aspects of contracts.
  • Manage the project budget and communicate changes and variances.
  • Keep all participants and stakeholders informed in order to bring the job in on time and under budget.
  • Provide project closeout documentation.
  • Build and maintain strong customer relations with trade partners, vendor partners, and client partners
  • Timely invoicing of all work completed to date and conscientious follow-up on collection of money due to ensure positive cash flow
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS
  • A degree in Engineering or Building Construction or a HS diploma with at least 3 years of construction management experience in the mechanical trades
  • Must have basic PC experience in Windows applications, working knowledge of word processing, spreadsheets, e-mail, Web-enabled applications, and database software
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience managing Healthcare Research mechanical work
  • Mechanical engineering degree or equivalent education or experience
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, ABILITIES AND CHARACTERISTICS
  • Knowledgeable of ICRA (Infection Control Risk Assessment);PCRA (Preconstruction Risk Assessment); ILSM (Interim Life Safety Measures) policies and procedures commonly mandated by Healthcare Organizations
  • Ability to read and understand Construction Documents and Specifications.
  • Strong leadership skills, self-motivated, detail-oriented
  • Strong desire to provide excellent customer service
  • Must be able to prioritize and solve problems
  • Professional and polished image that inspires confidence and trust
WORKING CONDITIIONS AND PHYSICAL EFFORTS
  • Work involves moderate exposure to elements, such as hot/cold temperatures, dirt, dust, and/or loud noises.
  • Work environment involves some exposure to construction-related hazards or physical risks, which require following basic safety precautions.
  • Light physical effort. Requires handling of average-weight objects up to 25 pounds and some standing or walking.  
  • Work requires local and occasional out-of-town travel to job sites and customer locations.
