Job Description:

Are you interested in working for UDRI, a national leader in scientific and engineering research, serving government, industry and nonprofit customers? UDRI's Help Desk invites qualified candidates to apply for our Associate Research IT Professional opening!

The Associate IT Research Professional provides support to a growing business and emerging IT infrastructure. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to providing IT support in the following areas:
• Respond to IT helpdesk tickets:
o Support local and remote users
o Install software on Windows
• Assist with employee IT infrastructure:
o Configure employee workstation/laptop configuration
o Configure employee accounts / active directory
• Assist with hardware and software procurement and inventory management
• Perform basic system and user administration tasks for Windows Server
• Troubleshoot, assemble, repair and configure Intel based workstations, servers and peripheral equipment


Minimum Qualifications
• High School graduate plus four years of relevant experience (diverse, progressive administrative) and training, OR an associate degree plus two years of relevant experience and training, OR a Bachelor's and no previous experience required
• Two years of expertise in a windows desktop environment
• Must be able to work independently and have good customer interaction skills
• Strong written and oral communication skills
• Experience in providing helpdesk functions
• CompTIA Security+ certification or the ability to obtain this certification within one year of employment
• Due to the nature of the work, US citizenship is required
• A valid driver’s license and low risk driving record is required to be insurable by the University


Preferred Qualifications

While not everyone may possess all of the preferred qualifications, the ideal candidate will bring many of the following:

• 1+ years of Active Directory and Windows File Server expertise
• Experience in setup and management of imaging services for building out workstations for windows
• Experience supporting Linux systems

A federal court on December 7, 2021, issued a ruling that suspends the COVID-19 vaccine requirement that applies to federal contractors nationwide.
