The Opportunity:

The Behavioral & Social Sciences Department at Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University, Prescott Arizona Campus (ERAU), invites applications for one tenure-track Assistant or Associate Professor position. A qualified candidate will have expertise in Human Factors through at least one of the following: doctoral training, research, and/or practice experience. The position will preferably begin in August 2022, but a January 2023 start date is negotiable.

Essential Duties

The successful candidate will become an integral part of the College of Arts & Sciences, with duties that include:
  • Teaching undergraduate courses that serve students across campus.
  • Maintaining a productive program of research.
  • Supervising undergraduate research.
  • Contributing to university, departmental, and professional service.
ERAU faculty are expected to maintain the highest standards of academic excellence in all phases of instruction, research/scholarship/creative activity, and service. The department and its current faculty are committed to the scientist-practitioner approach to education and working side-by-side with students on research and industry collaborations. Qualifications

Required Qualifications


Applicants must hold a doctorate in psychology or provide evidence that their degree will be completed by August of 2022. Training and research must be relevant to Human Factors Psychology.

This position is open to any area of Human Factors Psychology, but preference will be given to candidates who can complement or add to existing strengths within the program, department, and campus including simulation, aviation safety, human-computer interaction, cybersecurity, and human-automation collaboration. Preference also will be given to candidates with research and teaching interests in the following areas: neurorobotics/physiological measures, training, usability and user experience, and augmented or virtual reality.

Candidates must provide evidence of or the potential to conduct and publish quality research and excel in undergraduate teaching and mentoring.
