As part of the FNO maintenance team, reporting to the Fixed Equipment Engineer, the Maintenance Engineer contributes to the success of the organization by optimizing the utilization of plant assets by ensuring the highest level of fixed equipment and process reliability. 

 

This position is located in Fort Saskatchewan, Alberta, Canada and is not available for remote work.

What you will do:

  • Mechanical design ownership of plant changes through the MOC process
  • Analysis of maintenance history and failure data to prioritize issues and opportunities
  • Develop preventative and predictive maintenance strategies and tactics
  • Lead Root Cause Failure Analysis investigations
  • Conduct equipment assessments during maintenance and inspection opportunities for life expectancy evaluation and repair quality
  • Develop equipment specifications and reviewing equipment purchases and installations to ensure that equipment is built to recognized practices

What you will bring:

  • Bachelor of Engineering, Mechanical
  • Professional Engineer (APEGA)
  • 5 to 10 years of experience
  • Experience or certification in Reliability Centered Maintenance and PM Optimization Methodology is considered an asset
  • Knowledge in pressure vessel, piping codes, heat exchangers, flange bolt-up and NDT inspection techniques
  • Exposure to vibration analysis, lubrication, thermography, and other preventative and predictive maintenance technologies is considered an asset
  • Knowledge in rotating equipment (pumps, turbines, compressors) would be considered an asset
  • Experience in safety management skills and practices
  • Excellent interpersonal, communication, planning, problem solving, and organizational skills.
