Job Description:

What you will do:

  • Demonstrate safety leadership within White Springs through participation in existing programs and driving continuous improvement on assigned projects
  • Be the primary site lead for ARO gypsum stack closures and reclamation
  • Manage the Gypsum Stack Closure, ARO, and Land Management related projects
  • Program Management to ensure all ARO activities are completed through Project Management
    (EPCM) Best Practice during all phases of each project (Concept Development, Feasibility, FEED, Execution, Commissioning, etc.) and consistent with Nutrien’s obligations
  • Provide safety and execution leadership to project Engineering Consultants and Contractors
  • Contract management of work and external parties to provide value to Nutrien’s Phosphate business
  • Drive creative solutions that meet the intent of Nutrien’s permit obligations while delivering these projects at the lowest possible cost
  • Manage projects aspects of detail design or supervision of contract engineering services, cost and schedule control, coordination with procurement function, project status reporting, construction management, commissioning, and training
  • Ensure all projects under supervision comply with all environmental and safety rules and regulations
  • Performs field quality inspections of project construction and plant equipment which requires the ability to climb ladders, stairs, or inclines; walk on irregular surfaces; and lift moderately heavy parts and equipment
  • Execution of site Projects as assigned

What you will bring:

  • General understanding of the phosphate industry, significant experience in project and construction management, general permitting knowledge and contract management
  • B.S. Degree in a relevant engineering discipline (Chemical, Mining, Civil, etc.) or Construction Management from an accredited college or university
  • Minimum ten years of experience with three years managing people
  • Must be knowledgeable of plant safety, environmental policies and procedures, and regulatory compliance criteria
  • Knowledge and experience in earthwork and the associate construction activities and process water management
  • Knowledge and experience in post mining reclamation activities, water management and dam/levee construction
  • Demonstrated successful Project Management experience
  • Leadership and a strong technical background to drive these projects while working with site and corporate individuals, departments, and teams
  • Ability to communicate and work across a variety of site and corporate teams
  • Ability to progress ARO and Stack Closure projects autonomously while working with White Springs Stakeholders
  • Knowledge of project engineering and a general knowledge of fertilizer processes is preferred
  • The ability to utilize personal computers and other computer aids is essential
