The PSM Engineer is responsible for the site PSM program and compliance to the program. This position reports to the Reliability Engineering Manager.

This position is located in Geismar, Louisiana, U.S.A and is not available for remote work.

What you will do:

  • Coordinate with the corporate PSM group to ensure adherence to all regulatory and company policies
  • Work with Production, Mechanical Integrity, I&E, Process, and others to ensure plant compliance with OSHA 1910.119 Process Safety Management
  • Ensure accurate record keeping and reporting for PSM leading and lagging indicators
  • Coordinate and provide support in incident investigations, Management of Change (MOC), Process Hazards Analysis (PHA) and Root Cause Analysis (RCA)
  • Facilitate PHAs
  • Conduct Pre-Startup Safety Reviews (PSSRs)
  • Guide tracking and maintaining management of change (MOC) forms and documentation
  • Participate in and/or lead PSM audits
  • Participate in and/or lead Facility Siting Update
  • Conduct safety audits
  • Guide record keeping and reporting of action items from PHAs, Incident investigations, and other actions; complete action items as necessary
  • Assist in compliance with RAGAGEP (recognized and generally accepted good engineering practice)
  • Ensure alignment between corporate and site PSM guidance, policies, and procedures
  • Maintain site PSM SharePoint Page
  • Participate in the establishment of PSM program strategies for continual improvement
  • Stay abreast of new and pending PSM regulations and creative technologies that would aid in improving the PSM process
  • Participate in local community activities and programs affecting PSM, in professional organizations, and in civic and governmental groups as a Nutrien representative
  • Perform engineering calculations and studies as required in areas including safety, environmental, and process
  • Work with regulatory agencies on all PSM matters including agency inspections

What you will bring:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering, Chemical preferred
  • Two or more years of experience in a PSM covered manufacturing environment
  • Knowledge of chemical process piping, tanks, and pressure vessels
  • Knowledge/Experience in PSM compliance a plus
