POSITION SUMMARY

The Coordinator of Industrial Engineering will lead the Industrial Engineering activities to identify ways to prevent waste and inefficiency in production processes. They will be responsible for the coordination, training and leadership of 2-3 direct reports. They will design efficient systems that integrate workers, information, machines, energy and materials to make products or provide services. The Coordinator of Industrial Engineering will also oversee the design of equipment to coordinate production planning to minimize production issues and costs while ensuring products meet quality standards. They will design, develop and maintain manufacturing routes to maximize effectiveness, efficiency and space. The Coordinator of Industrial Engineering will ensure the company complies with all industry standards for safety while meeting design standards and guidelines. They will also lead and facilitate Continuous Improvements / Six-Sigma Projects to improve overall operational efficiencies.

 

YOUR KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Analyze and evaluate existing systems and processes, identifying value-added and non-value-added activities to solve manufacturing challenges
  • Conceive, design, test, and develop innovative solutions based on analysis and organizational objectives
  • Evaluate and explore new and existing processes, equipment, and materials as an input to scheduling methods, performance metrics and financial standards
  • Foster BRP’s reputation by delivering innovative solutions while upholding company, federal, and state regulations
  • Research and test design ideas to determine feasibility, utilizing Lean Manufacturing, Kaizen, Six Sigma, and root cause analysis to formulate/support innovation, corrective actions, and continuous improvement activities
  • Coordinate the activities of the Industrial Engineer Team for:
    • Maintaining manufacturing process documentation.
    • Facility layout.
    • Value Stream Maps
    • Plant capacity, process modeling / simulation.
    • Utilization studies. 
    • Time and motion studies, standard work, cycle time analysis and line balancing.
    • Material storage / delivery strategy.
    • Ensure accuracy of Direct Labor assumptions and SOX Compliance.

 

YOUR QUALIFICATIONS AND SKILLS

  • B.S. in Engineering (IE or ME) required
  • 5+ years related engineering experience
  • In-depth understanding of lean manufacturing principles.
  • Proficiency with analytical tools, workflow time study, and process balancing
  • Ability to interface with program management, manufacturing leads, customer, and functional leads; provide daily direction and guidance to direct reports.
  • Advanced experience using Minitab, AutoCad, ProE / Catia / Solidworks.
  • Six-Sigma Certification preferred.
  • Advanced experience utilizing process modeling / simulation software such as ProModel or similar software.
