Job Description:

Join a global chemical leader as Site Safety Manager in beautiful, coastal South Carolina. In this role, you will be responsible for developing and implementing safety policies, procedures, and standards for all aspects of the PSM regulated chemical plant site.

 

RESPONSIBILITIES:

 

--- Coordinate compliance of the OSHA PSM Standards including identification of covered chemicals/processes, maintaining/updating related files and data, developing ongoing process safety training, and implementation of safe operating and emergency procedures related to covered chemicals/processes, site emergency response plan.

--- Monitor confined space and hot work permit programs.

--- Coordinate and participate in hazard evaluations as required by OSHA and EPA Risk Management Program.

--- Conduct safety related incident investigations. 

--- Conduct routine inspections and periodic audits of facility and employees for compliance with safety policies, practices and standards and to prevent unsafe conditions/activities.

--- Participate in the Risk Management Planning process.

--- Departmental responsibility for inspection of site safety equipment and services including fire protection systems in accordance with the Fire Protection Policy.

--- Ensure training is conducted for emergency response personnel, including Fire Brigade, Hazmat Team, Confined Space Rescue Team, and Medical Responders.

--- Coordinate and lead site safety meetings.

--- Prepare and post OSHA 300 logs, and archive related reports and data.

--- Perform job safety analyses on high incidence job positions for continuous improvement of workplace safety.

--- Conduct and coordinate hygiene monitoring to verify compliance status with various OSHA standards, e.g. air contaminants, noise, etc.

 

QUALIFICATIONS: 

 

--- BS Safety or Engineering degree with 7+ years as a Safety Leader with experience in establishing and maintaining compliance of OSHA, PSM, and EPA regulations in a chemical plant.

--- Thorough knowledge, training, and guidance of OSHA, PSM, and EPA Regulations

--- Experienced with Lockout Tagout and Confined Space Entry

--- Familiar with mechanical and chemical plant equipment and operations

--- Safety or Professional Engineering certification not required

--- Ability to work in the USA without sponsorship, now or in the future
