GENERAL PURPOSE
The Electrical Engineering Supervisor is responsible for direct technical management of all electrical engineers in the EE group. This position requires extensive background with all facets of electronics design including high level architectural development, low level design of high speed, analog, and digital printed circuit boards that will include interfacing with different communications buses, designing high speed laser diode circuitry and low noise amplification of sensitive low light optical detectors.  Design skills shall include experience with ISO/AS maintained design environments, designing in rugged, environments associated with military or aviation platforms.  This is a transitional role for experienced engineers who want to move to a management career track. Work will be a mix of technical with a focus toward managerial duties. This position does not immediately require a security clearance, but applicants must have the ability to obtain a U.S. Security Clearance, for which the U.S. Government requires U.S. Citizenship.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES
•    Determine the architecture and lead the detailed electronics analysis and design using both digital and analog circuit design skills.
•    Execute, test, verify and review designs 
•    Develop and execute test plans and procedures for the product or subassemblies
•    Management duties, resource planning and performance management of a small engineering team and engineering support personnel
•    Communicate regularly with team to establish weekly goals and discuss proactive resolutions to issues
•    Interface with System Engineering and Program Management
•    Support allocation of resources to projects, company priorities, and schedule milestones  
•    Provide regular reporting to on schedule/team status and progress
•    Provide direct contribution to design and analysis activities
•    Review and approval of work product of individual contributors

OTHER DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES
•    Define and engineering and department best-practices
•    Lead Root Cause Corrective Action (RCCA) activities
•    Perform Risk Management assessments as needed
•    Perform system safety analysis
•    Provide team mentorship
•    Other duties as required

SUPERVISORY DUTIES
•    Management duties, resource planning, and performance management and review of a small engineering team and engineering support personnel - Direct supervision of EE I through IV
•    Effective communication skills and the ability to work within a small, fast paced team environment
•    Coordination of technical aspects of projects involving multiple engineers, including cross-discipline tasks and coordination 
•    Perform weekly review and approval of timesheets

JOB QUALIFICATIONS
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITY

•    Extensive experience in the design of RF/analog building blocks like Low Noise amplifiers, mixers, Power Amplifier, Phase shifters, multipliers, LO distribution amplifiers, mixed-signal circuits and mixed-signal systems such as ADC's, DAC's, and PLL's
•    Extensive design experience in meeting rigid EMI/EMC guidelines
•    Design experience with opto-electronics background in low-noise, high gain opto-electronic circuitry, electrical amplification, and various other optical diode detection components
•    Design experience with ability to migrate from R&D to Full Scale Production within a well-regulated AS9100 (ISO 9001) environment including accurate schematic capture, BOM creation, thermal and timing analysis
•    Ability to incorporate comprehensive test methodologies into design 
•    Interpersonal and supervisory skills
•    Project planning and management
•    This position does not immediately require a security clearance, but applicants must have the ability to obtain a U.S. Security Clearance, for which the U.S. Government requires U.S. Citizenship.

EDUCATION OR FORMAL TRAINING
•    Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering or a similar field required

EXPERIENCE
•    With a BS - 18+ years’ experience
•    With a MS - 16+ years’ experience
•    With a Ph.D. - 15+ years’ experience

WORKING ENVIRONMENT
•    Office and Lab environments

PHYSICAL ACTIVITIES
•    Handling lab equipment and products (moderate lifting)
