GENERAL PURPOSE
The Systems Engineering Supervisor will be responsible for leading the Systems Engineering staff through design, test and production of deliverable products.  This position will require the Systems Engineering Supervisor to propose new technology and/or program direction in support of business objectives, as well as provide technical consultation to Management. This position does not immediately require a security clearance, but applicants must have the ability to obtain a U.S. Security Clearance, for which the U.S. Government requires U.S. Citizenship.  

ESSENTIAL DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES
•    Performs resource allocations to ensure multiple programs are sufficiently staffed
•    Participates in defining Systems Engineering planning, and scheduling tasks
•    Ensures successful completion of the assigned project phases within the budgeted time and cost constraints
•    Provides resource and schedule inputs during proposal development
•    Identifies performance metrics to ensure that products and tasks are executed in accordance with the program plan, monitor property and project budgets, report cost/schedule variances, and provide detailed technical leadership to complete the statement of work
•    Provides resource and schedule status for Systems Engineering tasks
•    Assists in vendor selection and the RFQ process

OTHER DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES
•    Other duties as assigned

SUPERVISORY DUTIES
•    Manages the workflow through the Systems Engineering organization
•    Provides mentoring and training to Systems Engineers
•    Manages personnel including performance evaluation and conflict resolution
•    Works with management to resolve resource needs and conflicts
•    Supervises and develops working relationships with staff
•    Ensures staff understand and abide by corporate policies and procedures
•    Identifies and applies career advancement opportunities

JOB QUALIFICATIONS
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITY

•    Demonstrated skills in leading a team of Systems Engineers through the design, testing and production of complex products
•    Working knowledge of all Systems Engineering functions and processes
•    Previous work experience within an ISO9001 or AS9100 Quality Assurance controlled environment
•    Understanding of Logistics Engineering including reliability studies, monitoring of diminished manufacturing sources, creating failure mode engineering criticality analysis and maintainability analysis
•    Ability to supervise technical staff and develop relationships with key suppliers
•    Experience working with teams including engineering, business development, and customers to define product enhancements
•    Good communication skills both verbally and written
•    Project management experience with alignment to customer requirements
•    Strong engineering background in developing electronic, mechanical and electro-optics assemblies
•    Experience in aerospace industry desired

EDUCATION OR FORMAL TRAINING
•    Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering required

EXPERIENCE
•    With a BS + 12-17 years’ experience
•    With a MS + 10-15 years’ experience
•    With a Ph.D. + 9-14 years’ experience

WORKING ENVIRONMENT
•    Office or Lab environment
