The opportunity
We are looking for a motivated, self-driving designer for our land development, and utility design projects in California.
A Civil Engineering Subject Matter Expert (SME) is a Civil Engineer is a licensed professional Engineer who will closely work with the Customer Success Managers (CSM) / Sales team with sales-related work. SME will help the CSMs by offering technical assistance and by defining the scope of work required for the grading permit, stormwater compliance, large projects as well as VCs in pacific time zone.
 
What will you do
A unique sales-focused role with a diverse range of responsibilities. Educating the sales team regarding the AEC services, collaborating with the CSMs on the pre-sale front and providing the necessary technical assistance, creation of scope for proposals, helping with piercing, getting on client calls, and video consultations.

This individual must be skilled in the use of Autodesk Civil 3D to perform the following tasks:

• Licensed Engineer
• Experience in AEC Selling preferred
• Proficient in AutoCAD and Revit (preferred but not required)
• Strong communication skills & interpersonal skills
• Help drive sales growth via collaboration with sales and marketing teams.

• Ability to learn new systems & processes quickly while adapting to tech-savvy environment
• Manage time efficiently, meet sales goals, and works effectively and proactively with other members of the team

• Grading design and Create surfaces and contours, earthwork volume calcs, alignments, and profiles.
• Generating plan and profile for driveways and utilities, site sections, details sheets, layer management, template creation, etc.
• Creating roadway corridors, a plus, and using Civil 3D styles for labeling.  Editing or creating dynamic labels.
• The individual will be required to work closely with a team of Civil Engineers on a variety of projects.
• Research on city requirements for grading permits, and utility permits, contacting city agencies for requirements and clarifications.

 
Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in civil engineering, EIT a plus
• 3-5 years Land/Site Development drafting experience on California projects
• 3-4 years of Civil 3D design experience
• Proficient in AutoCAD, latest version
