Job Description:

MD Engineering was established in 2003 and is a full-service Mechanical, Plumbing, and Electrical Engineering firm located in Plano, Texas.  MD Engineering is licensed and has projects in multiple states.  The projects that MD Engineering design include the following building types: municipalities (local and federal), medical facilities, multi-family, retail, restaurants, judicial facilities, fire stations, universities, hospitality and schools. MD Engineering is comprised of a group of talented experienced individuals who each have experience in the engineering field, and who each embrace a strong sense of professionalism and teamwork.
 
We are looking for an experienced (10+ years) Senior Electrical Engineer responsible for multiple EITs and electrical designers. Must be a Registered Professional Engineer in the State of Texas with the ability to be licensed in other states.  NCEES registration is a plus.

Project Management responsibilities
  • - Plan and schedule multi discipline design teams to ensure quality deliverables within the scope and budget outlined in project proposals and contracts.
  • - Develop and maintain client relationship as primary point-person by communicating with clients to obtain project deadlines, coordinate specific project requirements, and communicate on behalf of project teams regarding high level design elements.
  • - Perform coordination between MEP and other professional disciplines.
  • - Support and foster business development initiatives.
Design responsibilities:
  • - Be able to produce electrical narratives including a preliminary estimate of electrical loads, proposed system voltage and a general description of system elements.
  • - Be able to plan the preliminary sizes and locations of electrical and telephone/data rooms.
  • - Be able to make preliminary layouts of outdoor electrical equipment, including pad mounted transformers and emergency generators.
  • - Be able to produce and review electrical construction documents and seal documents prepared by you or under your supervision for MD Projects.
  • - Know the special electrical characteristics and requirements of the projects that are specialties of the firm.
Mentoring responsibilities
  • - Provide mentoring to technical staff to assist in their professional and technical growth.
  • - Assist in developing a structured mentoring program for current staff and expandable to include college interns and co-op students.
