The Project Engineer, reporting to the Engineering Manager - Juneau, will be responsible for the development, engineering, implementation, and monitoring of all aspects of capital projects for all production facilities.  This job will also be responsible for communicating project goals and objectives, including cost, scheduling, resource management, technical performance and deliverables

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

• Establishes investment needs through analyzing production processes, facility needs, and available budgets.
• Works with Operations and plant support staff in development of Capital Appropriation Requests.  Assists in developing adequate documentation to justify proposed investments according to Sensient procedures, including defining project scope, preparing project budget, and establishing project schedules.
• Identifies appropriate vendors (contract engineers, equipment manufacturers, etc.).
• Assists executing projects according to the developed plans. Coordinates development, procurement and installations. Development of Milestone charts and managing/ tracking capital projects.
• Monitors project performance after implementation and supports projects owners.
• Supports capital project financial recording, including invoicing and budgets.
• Enhances department and organization reputation by accepting ownership exploring opportunities to add value, and coordination with internal and external staff.

QUALIFICATIONS/REQUIREMENTS/COMPETENCIES

• A college graduate with a BS in Mechanical, Chemical, Industrial, Food Processing or similar Engineering with experience within the food and/or chemical industry.
• Ability to communicate with peers, management, plant employee and contractors is vital.
• Ability to multi-task numerous projects and understand the urgency around them.
• Effective analytical and problem solving skills.
• Must be fluent in English

EDUCATION/TRAINING/EXPERIENCE

Training in MS Office, AutoCAD, and MS Project desirable.

WORK ENVIRONMENT/PHYSICAL DEMANDS

• Work within a food manufacturing facility requiring walking up and down stairs/ladders, and incidental exposure to heat, humidity, and dust.
