If so, this is your chance to join the education revolution with Butler Tech as an Engineering Instructor at our Hamilton High School satellite location.

This is a position for an independent learner who can work with limited direct supervision; someone who likes to collaborate, experiment, evaluate and continually improve; and someone who is a flexible problem-solver. Teaching experience is NOT a requirement, but experience working with or around young people is preferred.

Topics to be taught include

  • The engineering design process,
  • Documentation,
  • 2- and 3-D modeling,
  • Computer integrated manufacturing,
  • Manufacturing quality processes,
  • Fundamental welding principles and techniques, and
  • CNC programming.

Some courses taught will provide students the opportunity to earn college credit; others will follow the Project Lead the Way model.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Work experience in an engineering-related field and educational attainment as outlined below AND willingness and ability to complete Ohio’s alternative teacher licensure process, including 24 semester hours of university coursework within 4 years:
  • Preferred: Master’s degree in the content area and two years of relevant work experience; OR
  • Bachelor’s degree in the content area and two years of relevant work experience; OR
  • Bachelor’s or master’s degree outside the content area and two years of relevant work experience;
  • Must successfully complete the Project Lead the Way teacher pre-assessment;
  • If credential not already held, must successfully complete Project Lead the Way Summer Training Institute in the summer of 2022. (Butler Tech will provide registration information and cover costs.);
  • Willingness/ability to work with students, teachers and administrators as a team member;
  • Effective and demonstrated problem solving, critical thinking, analytical, oral and written communication, and organizational skills;
  • State-issued identification card with photograph;
  • History of strong work record, including good job attendance; and
  • Documented evidence of acceptable criminal record as required by Ohio law and Board Policy.

START DATE: August 2022

WORK YEAR: 185 days (follows Hamilton City Schools calendar)

SALARY: $47,274.00 - $98,614.00 per year based on education and experience
