Will hire for a Service Engineer or Service Engineer II (Depending on Experience Level of Talent)Responsibilities - Responsible for maintenance and calibration tasks to keep our robotics and instrumentation running at peak performance
- Troubleshoot liquid handling processes on multiple instrument platforms (Tecan/Bravo/Beckman)
- Troubleshoot and participate in root cause investigations to service and repair integrated robotic work cells in our CLIA-certified NGS genomics laboratory
- Interface with CLIA lab personnel to provide the highest level of rapid, professional service and support
- Communicate effectively with internal stakeholders and properly document work performed
- Work with vendors to efficiently communicate technical problems and ensure they rapidly fulfill and document their support responsibilities
- Review, maintain, and create SOP documentation for various maintenance, support, and training processes
- Completion of a training program to enable you to support highly sophisticated equipment
Qualifications
- B.S. in Engineering/Science with 0-2 years (2-4 experience for Level 2 Service Engineer), independent experience servicing and repairing complex laboratory instrumentation or robotic hardware (1-3 yrs experience with MS for Level 2 Service Engineer)
- Proven hands-on involvement with manual mechanical / electrical / software tasks
- Experience with liquid handlers (Tecan/Beckman/Bravo preferred), plate readers, DNA sequencers, thermocyclers, robotic arms a plus
- Instrument problem solving / troubleshooting / root cause analysis experience preferred
- Familiar with computer networking (Unix, OSX, Windows), and can quickly become an advanced user and manipulator of in-house software (Python/Django)
- Scientific instrumentation software experience preferred
- Software troubleshooting experience is a plus
- Independently driven, able to prioritize multiple tasks, organized, and a critical thinker
- Experiencing working within the regulations of a CLIA laboratory is a plus
- Some understanding of principles of laboratory science is preferred
