In addition to building, maintaining, and operating the state highway system, WSDOT operates the largest ferry system in the nation, manages the world's longest floating bridge, and recently completed the world's widest tunneling project. The OpportunityWSDOT is currently seeking a Development Review Engineer to help ensure that the state highway system remains safe and has the capacity to move people and goods efficiently. The candidate selected will serve as an advocate and represent WSDOT on development and local land-use proposals affecting state transportation facilities. This position will be responsible for reviewing development proposals and coordinating internal reviews for compliance with WSDOT design and construction standards, guidelines, and policies. Additionally, this person will participate in land use reviews to help preserve the state transportation system. Ongoing and frequent coordination is required with Olympic Region support groups, Maintenance, Project Engineering offices, Headquarters staff, local agencies, tribes, developers, and citizens.
