Overall description:
The Site Maintenance Manager (Site Engineering Manager) will lead the site maintenance team and ensure the execution of the maintenance and engineering philosophy for the site to minimize downtime
Key Duties:
·       Partner with Operations to safely manage the site maintenance process. Problems are usually complex in nature and require a high degree of troubleshooting skills. Problems can also include an advisory role in emergency situations.
·       Plan the use of resources to ensure reliability is achieved in the longer-term including production of asset life plans.
·       As senior engineering role on site, influence site senior team, engineering community across Croda, supply chain, external engineering contractors, suppliers and regulators on engineering matters.
·       Manage the overall performance of the maintenance department including objective setting, appraisals, training, development, recognition and discipline up to and including dismissal.
o   Direct reports include managers, team leaders and engineers
·       Create and manage annual cost budget for department.  Manage parts and storeroom costs and purchasing.
·       Be a leading voice in capital spend, engineering revenue budget, determination and performance of engineering providers, reliability of assets over short and longer term, maintenance of engineering standards. Decisions can have a significant impact on availability of site to meet business needs and are also critical to ensure license to operate is maintained.
·       Continuously improve asset performance and reliability, maintenance cost effectiveness, optimization of overhauls, and maintenance project efficiency by using innovative techniques and examining best practice.
·       Track and report maintenance metrics.
Experience & Education required:
·       Bachelor’s degree – Engineering discipline with relevant experience
·       Industrial experience preferred
·       Broad competence in all key areas of engineering – with emphasis on mechanical and electrical
·       Knowledge of engineering and contractor industry
·       Able to communicate complex technical information to a wide variety of personnel in technical and non-technical roles
·       High level of interpersonal skills
·       Ability to plan multiple activities with competing priorities
