Overall description:
We are building out our production and technical teams and looking for a Product Engineering Manager to help lead the effort. The ideal candidate will appreciate the chemical engineering side of production as well as the chemistry. This roll manages engineers that help with the day-to-day processing as well as small improvement projects.
You will lead our mixed technical team of engineers to help create a safer, faster system. This is a batch operation with chemistries in healthcare, personal care, and crop care. This will require forward-thinking and elegant solutions for complex processes.
This role will have direct responsibility for the near-term goals (1-3 year) and be part of a bigger team helping to set and achieve the 5-10 year site vision. As an early contributor, you will help drive key decisions about the technologies, tools, and best practices we adopt into our engineering culture. You'll deliver the best experience possible for your team while ensuring high standards of safety and quality. Your work will make a tangible impact on the people you manage and the company.
Key Responsibilities:
·       Help support safety initiative through your team
·       Lead and develop a high performance and diverse team of engineers
·       Understand and apply chemistries in a production environment
·       Provide leadership to team members, guiding them in terms of prioritization and problem resolution
·       Support daily production concerns
·       Evaluate progress and prepare detailed reports
·       Create and maintain a 1-3 yr plan on capacity improvements
·       Work with CAPEX team on suggest projects
·       Work with QC/QA on appropriate production limitations
Experience & Education required:
·       BS in Chemical Engineering, or Mechanical Engineer.
·       10+ years hands on manager for chemical industry. Experience as a senior engineer, tech lead, or manufacturing manager a plus
·       Ability to build out a team. There are currently new openings under this manager to be filled.
·       A desire to build an inclusive, diverse, and high performing team.
