Croda is seeking a Project Engineer to provide engineering design, process, and project support to multiple chemical production operations within the plant. This position will handle multi-disciplined projects in support of improving production efficiency and plant reliability, reducing manufacturing costs, improving safety standards, and attaining company sustainability goals.
Key Job Responsibilities:
Project Engineer 50%
-Provide cost estimates through a gated FEL process to determine project feasibility.
-Develop capital expenditures for new or upgraded systems and ensure they meet manufacturing criteria and the capital spend plan
-Specify equipment, piping, instrumentation, valves, and all other items associated with the project for purchase.
-Review and mark up technical drawings, including layout, dimensional drawings, P&ID’s, etc.
-Ensure applicable codes and standards are utilized for project needs.
Project management 50%
-Work with manufacturing departments, participate in hazard studies, implement management of change, and communicate progress of project proactively.
-Coordinate all Safety, Health, and Environmental requirements for project installation with the SHE department.
-Effectively manage project schedules and budgets
-Manage bid proposals, contractors, and vendors for all assigned projects.
-Supervise and participate in all aspects of assigned projects from inception to commissioning including operations and maintenance turnover packages.
-Develop and write procedures as needed for new processes.
Experience required: BS in Mechanical or Chemical Engineering with 5-10 years’ experience in the chemical industry. Must have written and oral proficiency in the English language. API experience is preferred.
Physical requirements: Ability to walk sit or stand for a minimum of 8 hours. May be required to move throughout production areas on uneven surfaces, climb ladders and/or stairs and be exposed to outside weather conditions for extended periods. Ability to lift a minimum of 50 pounds.
