Are you interested in working for a national leader in scientific and engineering research, serving government, industry and nonprofit customers? Our UAS (Unmanned Aerial Systems) and Embedded Systems invites qualified candidates to apply for our Senior UAS Software Product Manager opening! UDRI’s UAS and Embedded Systems researchers focus on providing autonomy systems, sensor control, system integration, and exploitation capabilities across a wide range of UAS platforms. We also provide an embedded platform for performing complex sensing algorithm testing.

This is a highly specialized technical position that will be responsible for the integration and management of system and application software in the context of multi-UAS autonomous systems. The Senior UAS Software Product Manager shall guide the development of a mature UAS autonomy software solution. Responsibilities include:
• Managing all aspects of releases, including relevant technical documentation
• Maintaining a high level knowledge about all aspects of the UAS system control software
• Managing team of field tech support professionals
• Leading customer-facing interactions, including serving as an industry representative of autonomy products
• Tracking distribution of autonomy software
• Updating marketing materials representing autonomy software
• Managing integration efforts with UAV platforms
• Handling autonomy solution feedback



Minimum Qualifications
* Bachelor's Degree (or higher) in a technical discipline;
* At least two years of experience working with or developing UAS software products;
* Experience working with Air Force partners;
* Excellent written and oral communication skills;
* Knowledge of Air Force UAS autonomy platforms;
* Solid team leadership skills;
* Robust time management skills;
* Due to the nature of this position, U.S. Citizenship or Permanent Resident status is required;
* Active US SECRET (or higher) clearance will be required for ongoing employment in this position


Preferred Qualifications
 

While not everyone may possess all of the preferred qualifications, the ideal candidate will bring many of the following:

* MS degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or Electrical Engineering;
* Software development experience on Windows and/or Linux operating systems;
* Successful experience developing software for deployed Air Force ISR systems;
* Successful experience with software and system integration;
* Experience managing a technical team in software releases;
* Experience working with UAS autonomy platforms;
* Excellent interpersonal skills;
* Active US SECRET (or higher) clearance

A federal court on December 7, 2021, issued a ruling that suspends the COVID-19 vaccine requirement that applies to federal contractors nationwide.
