Job Description:

Our global chemical client is searching for a Laboratory Manager, to participate on the chemical plant site leadership team.  Must have a successful leadership experience in managing the analytical, quality, productivity, cost, safety, and environmental compliance aspects of the on-site laboratory operation.  Offering excellent salary, benefits, and relocation options.

 

Responsibilities:

  • Supervise day-to-day laboratory operation and Lab Technician Team for adherance to laboratory data management, policies and protocols, and maintaining current records.
  • Provide creativity support in method development and design for analytical testing
  • Develop operating and capital budgets to control lab expenses, supply purchases and inventory control
  • Ensure laboratories meet Quality Assurance and Workplace Health and Safety requirements as well as organizational requirements
  • Evaluate employee performance; maintain and implement training programs for upgrading and documenting skills 
  • Lead initiatives on food safety, quality assurance, and plant regulatory compliance
  • Ensure compliance with FDA / FSMA regulations and specific product certification programs
  • Review and maintain analytical reports, analytical instruments performance, calibration standards and accuracy, and analytical procedures
  • Collaboratively work toward resolution of product shipment assays with corporate management and/or independent laboratories
  • Oversee and facilitates audits; ensures the Quality Assurance Plans, datasheets, Chemical Hygiene Plans are updated and representative

Qualifications:

  • BS / MS Chemistry or other related degree with 10+ years of analytical/ QA/ QC technical experience, including 5+ years of laboratory management in inorganic chemical, food, mineral, pharma, or related process industries
  • Must have knowledge of current laboratory facilities, methods, equipment, materials and ability to perform standardized scientific examinations independently
  • Have experience with planning and supervising small projects, and estimating and scheduling work to meet deadlines
