Job Description:
Responsibilities
Support customers that manufacture and service industrial and mobile equipment
Act as division subject matter expert for customer technology
Conduct New Product Blueprinting/Voice of Customer interviews
Create business cases to justify new product development and provide pricing recommendations to division staff
Travel to customer sites to learn more about their equipment
Provide hands-on support in R&D laboratory and with engineering team during development process
Conducts market research through trade associations, internet investigation and Corporate services.
Supports field sales and distributors as required to maintain Division’s premier customer service position.
Assists Territory and Regional Manager in adapting current and new products to customer need and satisfaction.
Provides technical expertise on product to close on final sale.
Assists design and manufacturing in the development of new and/or revised product according to customer requirements.
Provides timely reports summarizing findings on a given product, project or territory.
May be required to provide technical training of customers and distributors.
Develops and maintains comprehensive knowledge of competitive products and their activity in the marketplace and provides reports on a regularly scheduled basis.
Participates in the development and implementation of appropriate response strategies.
Develops customer communication programs and special marketing plans.
Requirements
Bachelor's Degree in an Engineering or related discipline.
5+ years Applications Engineering, Product Management, Sales Engineering and/or Project Engineering.
Must come from a manufacturing type environment…Aerospace, Automotive, Medical Device, Equipment, Automation, Industrial, etc.
An understanding of financial statements and analysis.
Excellent mechanical comprehensions with the ability to understand, describe or discuss problems of a technical nature.
Must demonstrate effective verbal and written communication skills.
