Manufacturing EngineerWaterloo, IA$80-100K plus bonus Our Waterloo, IA manufacturing client is looking to hire a Manufacturing Engineer. This Manufacturing Engineer will ensure delivery of process innovation and continuous improvement initiatives across multi-jurisdictions. It will play an important role in helping to foster a culture of sustainable change through the creation and embedding of LEAN methodology, and the supporting framework, to deliver business transformation.
Key Responsibilities:- To identify and deliver service improvement activity across the business through employing process improvement methodologies and the application of innovative thinking.
- To work with key business stakeholders, and multi-jurisdictional ‘LEAN champions’, to build a continuous improvement environment to support an ongoing program of change.
- Review production schedules, engineering specifications, orders, and related information to obtain knowledge of manufacturing methods, procedures, and activities
- Lead and facilitate LEAN/process improvement-based workshops to drive ideas and solutions
- Support the delivery of better value and greater efficiency through the identification and elimination of unnecessary complexity within business processes and identification of better ways of working
- Identify trends and process variations as part of establishing a continuous improvement monitoring system.
- Assist in the development and implementation of a ‘best-in-class’ continuous improvement strategy.
- Recommend methods for improving utilization of personnel, material, and utilities
- Recommend revision to methods of operation, material handling, equipment layout, or other changes to increase production or improve standards.
- Recommend modifications to existing quality or production standards to achieve optimum quality within limits of equipment capability.
- Prepare charts, graphs, and diagrams to illustrate workflow, routing, floor layouts, material handling, and machine utilization and enter data into computer for analysis
- Evaluate data and write reports to validate or indicate deviations from existing standards.
- Create and maintain products in ERP system, including materials, time, routing, coefficients, and cost
- Make inventory adjustments in the ERP system on the first of every month
- Perform time and motion studies as necessary for continuous improvement and operator release
Job Qualifications:
- Bachelors degree in Engineering.
- 3 or more years experience in a manufacturing engineering or process engineering role within a manufacturing setting.
- Excellent understanding of continuous improvement concepts including Six Sigma, Lean, value stream mapping
- Lean Six Sigma Experience
