Job Description:

Are you interested in working for UDRI, a national leader in scientific and engineering research, serving government, industry and nonprofit customers? UDRI's Sensor and Software Systems division invites qualified candidates to apply for our Associate Software Engineer opening!

The primary purpose of this position is to be a leading contributor on a software development team. The Associate Research Software Engineer will work with junior team members and provide technical guidance to them. Primary responsibilities include all aspects of the software development lifecycle, including requirements design, development, integration, and testing. This position requires the person to interface and communicate with the client(s) in a professional manner, as well as assist junior team members with their job duties.

Minimum Qualifications
* B.S. in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Computer Information Systems, or Electrical Engineering
* At least two years of experience with full stack software development with either Java, C#, C++, or Python platforms, including front-end, back-end, and database development
* Experience with applications such as Git, Continuous Integration/Deployment apps, static code analysis tools, and unit testing frameworks
* Experience with Agile SCRUM process
* Effective verbal communication skills
* US Citizen


Preferred Qualifications

While not everyone may possess all of the preferred qualifications, the ideal candidate will bring many of the following:

* At least three years of experience with full stack software development with either Java, C#, C++, or Python platforms, including front-end, back-end, and database development
* At least three years of experience with ASP.NET MVC, Spring Boot, or Flask/Django
* Two plus years of experience with applications such as Git, Continuous Integration/Deployment apps, static code analysis tools, and unit testing frameworks
* Two plus years of experience with Agile SCRUM process
* Demonstrated experience with the Linux operating system
* Demonstrated experience with team-based software development and interaction


Special Instructions to Applicants

A federal court on December 7, 2021, issued a ruling that suspends the COVID-19 vaccine requirement that applies to federal contractors nationwide. With this development, the University will pause any enforcement action against employees who have not complied with the requirement to be fully vaccinated by Dec. 8, 2021 or to have requested an exemption to maintain their employment status.
