Washington State Department of Transportation (WSDOT) is currently seeking to fill the Region Materials Engineer position in Spokane, WA. The Eastern Region Materials Office is responsible for administering the Region Materials Program, which includes construction materials testing, fabrication inspection, pavement design, Independent Assurance Inspection, materials source management and geotechnical investigation and reports along with Plans, Specifications, and Estimate preparations. The Region Materials Engineer will provide leadership, management, and engineering oversight to a team of engineers and technicians who provide technical advice to the Region's maintenance, local programs, design, and construction offices. The incumbent will be responsible for managing, prioritizing, and coordinating all activities in the Materials Office; as well as, collaborating with Headquarters, other WSDOT Regions, and State, Local, and private agencies. This position has a direct impact on the economic vitality of the Eastern Region communities and to provide safe, reliable, and cost-effective transportation solutions.
