Washington State Department of Transportation (WSDOT) Public Transportation Team is currently seeking a Transportation Engineer 4 (TE 4) to join the Capital Project Delivery and Business Services unit. This position provides technical expertise and engineering assistance for more than $200 million in public transportation capital improvement projects. These projects will help the state improve the safety and lessen the environmental impact of outdated infrastructure, including transit centers, bus shelters, maintenance shops, and other transit-related facilities. The TE 4 primarily works to ensure WSDOT, and its grantees comply with federal policies. This position will serve as an expert, provide technical support, and assist with implementation of and compliance with the National Environmental Policy Act (NEPA), State Environmental Policy Act (SEPA). And other federal and state requirements.
The TE 4 plays a key role in developing guidelines for reviewing and prioritizing public transportation projects based on scope, schedule, and budget. This will enable multimodal integration and alignment with WSDOT’s vision of reducing congestion, addressing safety, and improving system performance and access to transportation.
