Description

As an Electronic Process Engineer at Spartronics in Williamsport, PA, you are responsible for the smooth and efficient transition of all technical content from our customers to the Spartronics manufacturing and operations teams. In this role, you will have ownership of the engineering requirements for facilitating the manufacturing team in the build, test, and delivery of quality, regulatory, and technically compliant assemblies to our customers. Some of the activities you will perform include creating assembly routers, visual aids, test instructions, and other build-related documentation (wave solder profiles, flying probe, pick and place, automated optical inspection, automated conformal coating, and so forth). You will work closely with our Program Management team in resolving any customer technical concerns related to the build and test of their products. 

 

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Design assembly processes such as initial cell layout and fixtures, equipment tooling specifications, build-and-support test stations, and defect metrics
  • Evaluate materials and systems, identify equipment to complete assemblies, and prepare process/work instructions for manufacturing
  • Develop documentation such as manufacturing procedures, checklists, troubleshooting guides, and assembly quality plans with Manufacturing Technicians and Documentation Specialists. Uses these systems to train core assemblers for rapid transition of production responsibility to production personnel
  • Provide technical support and training to the assembly line, including technical and management aspects of new-build programs, assisting with the development of inspection criteria, and solicitation of assembler feedback
  • Provide recommendation for enhancements and cost reductions, initiate ECNs, and formulate cost impacts
  • Perform rework and defect root cause analysis, implement corrective/preventative actions, and report findings 
  • Participate in continuous process improvement activities as it relates to manufacturing
  • Work closely with Materials to assess project requirements, evaluate material issues, verify bill of materials, and communicate issues to the customer
  • Monitor and maintain technical project schedule and milestones, organize internal meetings, and give timely status reports
  • Participate positively in Spartronics community and personnel development, advising Spartronics management on continuous improvements. Advise sales personnel concerning cost changes, cycle time estimates, project approach, and customer interface
  • Perform all other duties as assigned

 

Requirements

 

  •  BS in a STEM related field (experience may be substituted)
  •  4-7 years experience
  • Good electromechanical troubleshooting skills
  • Ability to write processes and work instructions
  • Ability to write validation plans and reports
  • Ability to interface with customer on sustaining products as well as new product introductions effectively
