Job Summary: Under the direction of the Sr. Maintenance Manager, the Maintenance Reliability Engineer evaluates and analyze products, components, materials, and equipment for the purpose of understanding and predicting failures. Performs detailed reliability studies and calculations of component/system reliabilities.

MAJOR JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Responsible for: Predictive Maintenance program; Process Safety Management (PSM) – regulator inspections; Measuring PM Effectiveness; Developing and completing plant Projects and MOC’s; Overall responsibility of Utilities (Compressors, Boilers and water systems); Utilizing CMMS (EMaint) Condition Monitoring; Conducting critical spare part analysis; Training mechanics in best practices
  • Review product designs, material specifications, and manufacturing capability to predict reliability and dependability. 
  • Create prototypes and conduct product tests to gather reliability data.
  • Interpret test results and recommend solutions using appropriate statistical distributions and reliability models. 
  • Recommend product design changes or alterations in manufacturing processes and controls to ensure achievement of required reliability levels.
  • Monitor production equipment diagnostics and review maintenance record in order to predict and prevent equipment down times. 
  • Document findings, including results of root cause analysis, and facilitate the implementation of necessary changes to ensure product and/or equipment reliability levels are maintained. May determine maintenance requirements and schedules for products and equipment. 
  • Originates and develops analysis methods to determine reliability of components, equipment and processes.
  • Prepares diagrams, charts, drawings, calculations and reports to define reliability problems and make recommendations for improvements.
  • Conducts an analysis of reliability problems and investigates to determine the required reliability approach for the particular situation, with consideration given to the cost limitations for equipment uptime/downtime, repair/replacement costs and weight, size and availability of materials/equipment.
  • Determines cost advantages of alternatives and develops action plans that comply with internal/external customer demands for reliability processes/equipment to avoid failures.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • B.S. degree in engineering, statistics, mathematics, or equivalent
  • Minimum of 1 to 2 years Reliability experience required.
  • 3 to 5 years of experience in a manufacturing environment, preferably with chemical manufacturing.
  • PSM (Process Safety Management) and GMP experience
