Electrical Firmware Engineer
 
Electrolab, Inc. is seeking a Firmware Engineer for its growing team. This position is responsible for developing applications and firmware for various Electrolab sensor and control products.

RESPONSIBILITIES 
  • Develop embedded application/firmware for sensors and other industrial control devices
  • Perform tests and develop automation scripts to test and validate firmware
  • Develop application/scripts to support production testing and quality control
  • Troubleshoot issues at the hardware and system level
  • Create technical documents and procedures
  • Integrate embedded control systems and devices with 3rd party systems (PLC, SCADA, RTU)
  • Participate in the testing process through test review and analysis, test witnessing and certification of software
  • Collect and analyze design information, software requirements, and/or technical data
 
REQUIREMENTS
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering or Computer Science from accredited university preferred. Experienced candidates with an Associate’s Degree and a proven track record of success may also be considered.
  • Minimum 3 years of experience in embedded firmware/software development for various microcontrollers (ATMEL, Microchip, ST, TI and other)
  • Proficient in C/C++ language (Python and Java is a plus)
  • Experience in working with 8/16/32 – bit (RISC and ARM-Cortex) microcontrollers with multiple peripherals and communication interfaces
  • Experience with Mbed Studio, Atmel Studio or other development IDE’s
  • Experience with in-circuit emulators/debuggers, oscilloscopes and other equipment for embedded systems development
  • Good knowledge and understanding of ModBus, HART, TCP/IP and MQTT communication protocols
  • Ability to read and understand electrical schematics (Hardware design experience is a strong plus)
