Job Title: Assistant Project Engineer
Status: Full Time
Classification: Exempt
Reports to: Senior Project Engineer

General Description:

The Assistant Project Engineer will schedule, plan, resource and manage project controls assuring project accuracy, quality and budget. Working on multiple projects, expanding your knowledge base under experienced project engineers, managers and leadership. Jansen Inc. has the experience and capabilities of larger construction firms packaged into a more efficient, engaging and fun team! 

Primary Responsibilities:                         
  • Prepare, schedule, coordinate and monitor the assigned engineering projects
  • Manage T&M tracking and payment from the project owners
  • Track permanent material quantities and prepare for submission to owner teams for payment
  • Interact daily with the clients, inspectors, and subcontractors to smoothly execute and schedule the work
  • Perform overall quality control of the work (budget, schedule, plans, personnel’s performance) and report regularly on project status
  • Cooperate and communicate effectively with project manager and other project participants to provide assistance and technical support

Education, Skills and Abilities:
  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or relevant field preferred, combination of education and relevant work experience also considered
  • 1-3 years of experience as a field or office engineer
  • Knowledge of design and visualizations software such as AutoCAD
  • Experience utilizing Bluebeam software
  • Advanced MS Office skills - required
    • Expert MS Excel skills - preferred
  • Ability to work with multiple discipline projects
  • Project management and supervision skills
  • Decision making ability and leadership skills
  • Time management and organization skills
  • Familiarity with rules, regulations, best practices and performance standards

Salary and Benefits:
  •  $70,000.00 - $80,000.00 per year
