What you’ll be doing

As a Field Engineer, you will test and evaluate innovative wireless technologies in both controlled wireless environments and real-world conditions, this will include log analysis, capturing packets via Wireshark, consisting of a robust understanding of LTE protocol stacks, chasing corner cases, and supporting customers as needed.  You will work closely with development and testing teams to resolve issues.  This could include modifying system designs and implementing the solution. 

• Setup lab/field end-to-end system to enable full functionalities and ensure satisfactory system performance/protocols/features.
• Design test plans, scenarios, scripts, and procedures.
• Characterize system performance, stability and field testing.
• Generate and present system evaluation and test report to customers.

What you will bring to XCOM

• BS in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or a closely related field
• 3+ years of experience as a field engineer or system test engineer with wireless/cellular systems
• 3+ years of experience with cellular and/or Wi-Fi standards
• End-to-end wireless/cellular system knowledge including device, RAN, core network elements (PGW, SGW, AAA, ePDG, MME, etc.,) and integration experience
• Scripting skills (Linux system, Python) for data processing
• Experience using Wireshark for packet capture
• Experience installing, configuring, and maintaining Linux systems
• Recent hands-on experience with the following lab equipment: Spectrum Analyzer, Signal Generator, Vector Network Analyzer, RF High Impedance probes, Function Generators, Oscilloscope and Multi-meter
• Understanding of TCP/IP and Internet protocols in general

It’s a bonus if you have:

• BS in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or a closely related field
• Experience with Android and/or iOS debugging tools
• Experience with core network troubleshooting
