Job Description:

Planate Management Group is a Service-Disabled Veteran-Owned Small Business (SDVOSB) headquartered in Alexandria, Virginia, USA with a technical support center in the Philippines that provides program management and facilities engineering services worldwide. Planate is a small business provider of planning, design, infrastructure management, technical consulting, engineering, and construction management services in support of the US Department of Defense (DOD) and its Service (Army, Air Force, Navy, Marine Corps) missions, along with other US federal agencies.

The Planner & Estimator will be responsible for providing advanced planning support at a programmatic level and individual project level at the San Francisco VA.

This is a full-time, five-year project contingent upon the award of the contract.

 Key responsibilities:

  • Provide scheduling of multiple concurrent or sequential construction actions
  • Responsible for impact and mitigation analysis and the development of work breakdown structures
  • Generate resource-loaded construction schedules and determine construction activities sequences
  • Create schedules, WBC, Gannt Charts, process flow diagrams, Standard Operating Procedures and written correspondences related to reviews
  • Monitor subcontractors’ progress to ensure the work is within schedule and invoice payments
  • Work with the Construction Representative on creating construction management, safety, procurement and quality management plans
  • Schedule construction work, material and equipment delivery so as not to hinder hospital operations
  • Performs other responsibilities associated with this position as may be appropriate.

Qualifications to be successful in the role:

  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in planning or scheduling and construction project documentation
  • Experienced in handling healthcare or medical construction projects
  • Sound understanding of field construction concepts, principles and practices applicable to civil, mechanical, electrical and/or environmental engineering concerned with design, layout and supervision of construction operations
  • Highly knowledgeable in construction scheduling software
  • Background on safety and quality management in the healthcare construction field
