Job Description:

Join UDRI's Advanced Power Components (APC) department where researchers apply their expertise in the areas of thin film deposition and processing; materials characterization; device to system-level design, fabrication, and testing; thermal management of electronic components; and real-time modeling and simulation for aircraft and small UAV power systems. This is a part time, benefit eligible position that offers health, dental and vision insurance, retirement, vacation/sick accrual and holiday pay.

The candidate will perform battery cell fabrication, characterization, and evaluation. The candidate will also perform tasks for carbon nanotubes and nanocomposites related research.


Minimum Qualifications
BS in materials engineering
At least 8 year experiences with extensive research experience in battery cell fabrication, characterization, carbon nanotubes and nanocomposites
Effective written and verbal communication skills
US Citizen

Preferred Qualifications

While not everyone may possess all of the preferred qualifications, the ideal candidate will bring many of the following:

PhD in Materials Science
Extensive experience in, SEM, Gamry, Raman, X-ray, nanoindentation, DSC, TGA, laser flash, and other technologies for battery and polymer materials/ nanomaterials/composites characterization
Ability to work with socially and culturally diverse communities

A federal court on December 7, 2021, issued a ruling that suspends the COVID-19 vaccine requirement that applies to federal contractors nationwide.
