Position: County Surveyor
Salary Range: $5,238 to $7,714 per month Starting salary: DOE,DOQ

Brief Duties and Responsibilities: Performs professional land surveying and other related work for the Public Works Dept. Supervision is exercised over Public Works Technicians performing surveying and other related work. Oversee, perform, and review land/topographic surveys for the design and construction of roads and bridges, utility placements/locations, property lines and corner locations. Review short plats, long plats, boundary line adjustments and other survey documents for compliance with local and state codes and regulations. Develop, review, and approve new and revised right of way plans for construction projects. Manage county road vacations and establishments.
Working Environment: Work is performed in both an office and field setting. May be required to perform duties in various and adverse weather conditions. May be required to stand for long periods of time operating surveying equipment and lift up to fifty (50) pounds. May be required to sit for long periods of time operating computers and related equipment.
Minimum Qualifications: Associates degree in civil engineering or related field together with four (4) years’ experience in construction surveying. State of Washington Professional Land Surveyor License required. Must possess a valid driver’s license. Must successfully pass a background check and a driving record check.
