Position Summary:
We have a great opportunity for an experienced engineer to join the Greenworks team in the electric vehicle group. The role is responsible for leading the development and support of Greenworks and Greenworks Commercial Off-Road Vehicles and Mowers from concept to production. 
 
The Electric Vehicle Engineer has leadership and accountability for defining the strategy, architecture direction, and requirements for electric vehicles and their systems.  Reporting to the Director of Vehicle Engineering, this position will be responsible for developing architecture roadmaps and system requirements across the product portfolio.  In addition, the role will be responsible for developing and/or implementing common processes, tools and methods across the electrical systems while leading execution of long-range roadmaps.
 
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
 
  • Technical point person for electrical systems of vehicles (off-road vehicles, riding mowers, etc)
  • Accountable for the development and validation of new riding mowers and Side-by-sides
  • Other responsibilities include communication of root cause status across cross-functional groups and leadership, trend monitoring, Electrical guidance / leadership, and potential process development
  • Monitor Electrical related warranty data to identify and resolve top issues
  • Provide leadership / guidance on electrical systems (understand, troubleshooting, solution, etc.) for the Indian Continuous Improvement team
  • Provide Electrical and Software related guidance to Technical Service Teams
  • Work closely with appropriate platform architectural electrical engineer to ensure issues are fully understood, solutions are robust, and lessons learned are incorporated into future designs
  • Work with cross-functional teams to identify potential product safety issues and drive to resolution
  • Lead test and development of Electrical and Software related design improvements
  • As needed, develop processes/standards for continuous improvement
  • Ensure all learnings are communicated to the peer team and captured in technical documentation i.e Design Standards, FMEAs and DVP&Rs
  • Support other initiatives that relate to product safety
  • Other tasks and duties as assigned
 
Required Education and Experience:
  • BS in Electrical Engineering
  • Experience in a product development role (design, test, or manufacturing)
  • Strong knowledge of electrical systems/components of vehicles (UTVs, side-by-sides, riding mowers)
  • Decisive, self-motivated, and prone to action
  • Ability to work under pressure while maintaining a positive attitude
  • Must be customer focused to drive continual improvement
  • Acuracy and attention to detal.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills required
  • High level of people skills, able to work in a team environment required
  • Ability to ride vehicles for the purpose of tuning and testing
  • Microsoft software including Excel, Word, Outlook and PowerPoint required
