Job Description:

This position will be responsible for working, as part of a diverse and skilled technical team, to write and test software in high-level languages, and to develop and test signal processing and machine learning algorithms from concept to implementation. The position will involve working with both hardware and software solutions to apply developed capabilities on various platforms. There will be a heavy emphasis upon machine learning research and development.


Minimum Qualifications
1. Familiarity with modern Integrated Development Environments (IDEs) and software compilers such as PyCharm, Visual Studio, Eclipse, or similar
2. (R1) Demonstrated academic experience developing software using Python, C, C++ and/or Java
3. (R2) Three years of demonstrated, successful professional experience developing software using Python, C, C++ and/or Java
4. Due to the nature of this position, U.S. Citizenship is required
5. Eligibility to obtain a United States SECRET clearance (or higher) is required for ongoing employment in this position


Preferred Qualifications

While not everyone may possess all of the preferred qualifications, the ideal candidate will bring many of the following:

1. Bachelor’s Degree (or higher) in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, Computational Neuroscience, or Theoretical Neuroscience
2. Demonstrated successful experience (academic or professional) developing software using Python, C, C++, and/or Java
3. Demonstrated, successful experience (academic or professional) programming in algorithm-level languages such as Python, Matlab, or similar
4. Familiarity with signal processing and control systems
5. Familiarity with statistical modeling, machine learning, and/or deep learning concepts
6. Demonstrated, effective interpersonal skills
7. Active US SECRET (or higher) clearance
 


Special Instructions to Applicants

A federal court on December 7, 2021, issued a ruling that suspends the COVID-19 vaccine requirement that applies to federal contractors nationwide. With this development, the University will pause any enforcement action against employees who have not complied with the requirement to be fully vaccinated by Dec. 8, 2021 or to have requested an exemption to maintain their employment status.
