Job Description:
Global chemical leader has an opening for an Electrical & Instrumentation Technician, who will perform measurements, reliability, and troubleshooting of our electrical and instrumentation processes/ equipment for the chemical plant site. This is a day shift position, with some on-call responsibility.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
--- Provide support and troubleshooting for complex electrical systems, controls, instrument calibration, and perform PM and PdM for electrical equipment and control systems.
--- Ensure proper operation of all control system components including electronic components, valves, switches, PLC Control and related I/O modules
--- Troubleshoot and Repair - VFD's, AC Motors up to 350hp, Soft Start Motor controllers, MCC Starters & Motor Stop/Start stations
--- Maintain Plant Lighting and AC electrical power system
--- Working knowledge of conduit bending, reading electrical and loop drawings
--- Perform measuring and testing (ex. Ammeters, voltmeters, transducer, calibration devices) to install equipment or replace/repair existing components
--- Inspect, test, and calibrate meters, indicators, gauges (such as flowmeters, pressure gauges, temperature indicators, controllers) to detect abnormal fluctuations
--- Install pneumatic, electronic, and instrumentation equipment
--- Perform electrical installations, repairs, and service equipment per NEC codes
--- Utilize CMMS for work order tracking, time entry, parts procurement, etc.
--- Contact vendors or manufacturers as needed for support in issue resolution
QUALIFICATIONS:
--- AS or Technical degree in Electrical Engineering, Electrical Systems, or Instrumentation with 3+ years experience in control systems, valves, motors, and instrumentation/concepts of flow, level, pressure, and temperature in manufacturing plants
--- Working knowledge of National Electric Code (NEC), CMMS, networks and electronic information handling, and compliance efforts of ISO, PSM and OSHA
--- PLC experience desirable
