Job Description:

Join a world leader as part of the Site Leadership Team, with responsibility for the direction of the Mine Planning / Services Group. This position will provide the leadership and strategic initiatives and implementation of the goals, policies and priorities for the mine services team.  Offers excellent compensation, benefits, relocation, and long term career opportunities.

 

RESPONSIBILITIES:

--- Develops and implements the annual and long range plans for mining, tailing disposal, and reclamation; supporting the engineering project directives to improve efficiency and effectiveness.

--- Supervises the development of detailed dragline sequences, phosphatic clay and tailings disposal plans, drainage and water control projects, and other engineering projects related to mine operations and water control.

--- Overseas and develops federal, state, and county permit applications in conjunction with the Manager, Environmental Affairs, including procedures and methods to improve the efficiency and effectiveness of engineering services/ projects.

--- Supervises the engineering planning and management and/or oversight of the reclamation and dam construction projects; manages land clearing and infrastructure preparation for mining areas as well as dragline walk paths

--- Provides direction of the compliance policies, procedures, laws and permits for applicable Federal, State and local regulations and preparation of annual compliance reporting. supervises the analysis and calculation of the reserves as “Qualified Person” in a manner consistent with U.S. and Canadian laws;

--- Supports the administration of leases and deeds, the development of reports to land owners, analysis of potential reserve acquisition, development of capital AFE for land purchases and general knowledge of real estate deeds and transactions.

--- Provide data driven research and reports related to achieving the short and long term goals of the mining operations

 

QUALIFICATIONS:

--- BS Mining or Civil Engineering degree with 10+ years experience in Mine Operations, Engineering, and Leadership of surface or above ground mines.  PE registration is required.

--- Solid engineering background in mine planning and mine operations.

--- Extensive knowledge of regulatory laws and policies related to the mining and reclamation of a phosphate deposit and the ability to monitor the status of permit obligations and compliance. 

--- Proficiency with commercial mine planning software, e.g. SurvCadd, Vulcan, and AutoCad. 

--- US Citizen or valid Green Card holder
