Position Overview:
Possess technical expertise in electrical/electronic theory, PCB design, layout, fabrication, and testing. Ability to design and provide specifications for functional testing equipment. Interact with vendors and internal customers on assembly and design related improvements.
Essential Job Functions:
  • Evaluate test requirements and equipment, based on specifications, standards, and internal/external requirements.
  • Participate in design review of prototype electronic designs to ensure smooth transitions into manufacturing.
  • Investigate Field Failures to determine root cause.
  • Modify electrical prototypes, parts, assemblies, and systems to correct functional deviations.
  • Document and Execute test plans.
  • Set up and operate test equipment to evaluate performance of DVT, and record results.
  • Design, and fabricate “Bed of Nails” testing / programming equipment.
  • Identify and recommend test equipment, production equipment, fixturing, or tooling needed to meet production requirements.
  • Train team members on utilization of test equipment and procedures.
  • Analyze and interpret test information to resolve design-related problems.
  • Keep abreast of new developments in the fields of engineering design, methods, and specifications.
  • Support the quality management system in accordance with ISO standards.
  • Prepare BOM cost analysis including labor estimates.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with all levels of the team including leadership.
  • Perform risk analysis of various solutions, or approaches to problems
  • Repairing machines or systems using the needed tools.
  • Monitoring/Assessing performance of yourself, other individuals, or organizations to make improvements or take corrective action
Requirements/Qualifications
  • Knowledge of circuit boards, processors, chips, electronic equipment, and computer hardware and software, including applications and programming.
  • Knowledge of the structure and content of the English language including the meaning and spelling of words, rules of composition, and grammar.
  • Knowledge of design techniques, tools, and principles involved in production of precision drawings, and models.
  • Knowledge of machines and tools, including their designs, uses, repair, and maintenance.
  • The ability to determine risk utilizing DFMEA / PFMEA
