Job Description:

The Senior Interior Designer has responsibility for all areas of interior design from concept development through final design including space planning, programming, finishes and selection, millwork, furniture and furniture systems design/selection, architectural design, and lighting design and development.
 
Working to achieve the creative goals of design within the constraints of time, budget and client expectations, the Senior Interior Designer is an experienced, well rounded, get-it done team player, that prides her or himself as having the following strong characteristics and traits: approachable and personable, creative, good communicator and listener, decision maker, budget conscious, good written and verbal skills, organized, able to manage multiple assignments simultaneously, a problem solver, sociable, proven client skills, technically proficient, detail oriented, and loves the work that they do.
 
This person is able to envision and capture the big picture and communicate and promote the details of a solution. The Senior Interior Designer is able to delegate and leverage skill sets through mentoring, coaching and training.
 
RESPONSIBILITIES:
 
Demonstrating experience with public and private projects
Assuming the “day-to-day” responsibility of interior design/production
Leading the development and mentoring of junior interior designers
Providing marketing support, including proposal input and client interviews
Estimating Interior Design hour budgets and working within established budgets
Coordinating with all professional disciplines assigned to the project
Conducting field investigations
Providing interior design, concept development and final design services, including space planning, programming, finish selection, millwork design, furniture and furniture systems design and selection, architectural design, lighting design
Preparing outline and final Construction Document specifications
Attending team project meetings and client review meetings
Assisting with the development and maintenance of interior design standards
Maintaining a current knowledge of materials and resources
Providing Construction Administration support
Proactively involved in personal professional development
 
REQUIRED:
6 to 10 years of experience in the Commercial Interior Design industry
BA in Interior Design, FIDER Accredited Program or equivalent
Proficient in REVIT
Works well in teams, and independently
IRO 2022
 
Capable and competent in all areas of interior design and the interior design process
Demonstrated strong design and presentation skills
Good client skills
Experienced in speaking and writing, and making group presentations
PREFERRED/DESIRED:
 
Certified Interior Designer (CID)
NCIDQ Certification
LEED AP BD+C or LEED AP ID+C
Proficiency in AutoCAD; BIM; 3D Modeling; Adobe Creative Suite; Sketch-up;
Microsoft Office
 
Involvement in professional organizations
Knowledge of current building design trends
Proficient in document management and online research
Experience mentoring young professionals
MicroStation/MicroStation 3D proficient
