Bridge Engineer 4 (In-Training)

Washington State Department of Transportation (WSDOT) Bridge Preservation office in Tumwater, WA is currently seeking a Bridge Engineer 4 (In-Training) to conduct bridge load ratings or review the load ratings completed by consultants. This position will also evaluate bridges with low load ratings to determine if there is a need for load posting or other traffic restrictions, or for structural modifications to increase live load capacity. In addition, this position will evaluate applications for overweight vehicle movement over state bridges to ensure safe passage of trucks without compromising the structural integrity of the bridges to be crossed.

Note: This is an in-training position that offers a career path and on-the-job training. This position allows you to progress through the Bridge Engineer field and achieve the goal class of a Bridge Engineer 4. Candidates will be considered as a Bridge Engineer 1, 2, 3, or 4, depending on their qualifications.
