This position is located at the UDRI Hangar 01 facility supporting the Air Force Rapid Sustainment Office (RSO). The RSO increases mission readiness by rapidly identifying, applying and scaling technology essential to the operation and sustainment of the U.S. Air Force. This position supports the Condition Based Maintenance Plus (CBM+) team, located at the UDRI Hangar 01 facility within the Air Force Rapid Sustainment Office (RSO). The RSO increases mission readiness by rapidly identifying, applying and scaling technology essential to the operation and sustainment of the U.S. Air Force. Hangar 01 is the lead in bringing together a comprehensive network of new technological methods, processes, and techniques. Success comes from our teamwork and mutual respect for each other’s talents and unique perspectives. The CBM+ team mission is to transformatively improve Air Force maintenance practice by implementing predictive maintenance techniques, leveraging state-of-the-art AI/ML technology and sensor based algorithms.

This role is to assist with CBM+ software development and provide support during the concepting, planning for, and execution of software-heavy technology projects. The CBM+ Software Engineer will help to concept, architect, assist with prototyping, and management of CBM+ contractor efforts. The CBM+ Software Engineer will utilize the SW dev lab to configure and update the UI. They will also act as a subject matter expert evaluating RSO projects and provide recommendations for addressing risks and issues. Supports test and evaluation of RSO projects.
Responsibilities include:
• Working with multiple RSO program teams to support the scoping, configuration, and scaling of software-heavy projects
• Understanding the role of software in each program implementation
• Assessing risk and developing mitigation plans for scaling programs to Air Force-wide utilization
• Supporting a multi-discipline team of technical and programmatic experts to facilitate scaling from prototype or commercial application to military use conditions
• Developing and evaluating software requirements and reviewing vendor documentation
• Evaluating progress and risk throughout the DevSecOps process
• Supporting on-site deployment
• Participating in configuration control activities
• Supports test and evaluation of RSO projects.


Minimum Qualifications
• Bachelor's Degree in computer science, electrical or computer engineering, or related field
• Hands-on experience with OO programming languages like Python, Java, JavaScript, C, C#, etc
• 5 years of experience with software development
• Experience with Agile development or DevSecOps
• Experience with third party software integration
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Working-knowledge of RDBMS and SQL
• Ability to obtain a security clearance
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office programs
• US citizen.

Preferred Qualifications

While not everyone may possess all of the preferred qualifications, the ideal candidate will bring many of the following:

• Master’s Degree in computer science, computer engineering, or a related field
• 5 years of experience with DoD software development, implementation, and sustainment
• Experience with open source systems
• Experience with commercial applications
• Experience with small business software development
• Experience as a technical product lead or software systems architect
• Knowledge of Python, Java, HTML 5, XML, Ajax, Flex, Web services/REST
• Knowledge of Bl, Analytics, Cassandra or other NoSQL technology
• Active Secret security clearance.


Special Instructions to Applicants

A federal court on December 7, 2021, issued a ruling that suspends the COVID-19 vaccine requirement that applies to federal contractors nationwide.
