Electrical Engineer

If you’re someone who wants to work at the leading edge of aerospace technology where design cycles are short and decisions can be made quickly, this is your kind of environment. Experience with advanced robotics or UAV technology (especially autopilot and flight control logic) would be ideal. 

 

Representative Responsibilities 

  • Work independently or as a team member to design, build, test and troubleshoot hardware for autonomous vehicles. This could include autopilot, environmental sensing, motor control, battery charging circuits, or radio communications, among others. 

  • Collaborate with other engineering disciplines in planning, design and development of systems to ensure software and hardware performance and compatibility 

  • Write test plans and test cases, conduct unit integration and system-level testing 

  • Support flight-test operations 

 

Minimum Requirements 

  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or related field of study and 2-4 years of post-graduate work experience 

  • Must have experience with PCB design, schematic capture and layout (Altium or SOLIDWORKS PCB preferred), component selection and design for manufacturing (DFM). 

  • Must have experience prototyping and debugging analog and digital circuits. 

  • Basic understanding of microprocessor and electrical systems 

  • Strong debugging skills through use of instrumentation such as oscilloscopes and protocol analyzers 

  • Soldering experience is required 

  • Some experience with embedded systems design, microprocessor-based design and software development in C/C++/C# would be ideal 

  • Enjoys the challenge of solving complex systems problems in a fast-paced environment 

  • Preferred: application experience in areas such as Robotics, Automation, Motor control, and Sensor fusion 

  • Some travel may be required to support customers, flight testing, vendor management, marketing and sales initiatives
