Our client is a global leader in their space!
 
R&D Process Engineer will maintain and improve upon the manufacturing cost, processing performance and product quality for new and existing products. Also work closely with Central Engineering and assist in the design and start-up of process equipment.
 
R&D Process Engineer will be responsible for troubleshooting, standardizing, and improving existing products/processes as well as maintaining all standard documents (SOPs)
 
R&D Process Engineer role supports Plant Operations connecting R&D, Engineering, Safety, and Supply Chain functions to plant processes associated with manufacturing and assembling quality processes and products
 
R&D Process Engineer responsibilities include developing processing specifications, standard works, root cause investigation, statistical data analysis, DOE, and training while also following Safety Handbook. Deliverables include creation of technical design specifications for process equipment, processing specifications, process assistance to the plants and requisitions for Capital Expenditures Request
 
R&D Process Engineer leads plant trials associated with new raw material qualification, new equipment technology, and new product development. Proper trial report expected at the end of each research study 
 
R&D Process Engineer will work with Chemists, Engineers, Finance, Marketing, Supply Chain and Suppliers under the general guidance of the Process R&D Leader, Manager or Director.

Responsibilities & Requirements:
  •  BS Chemical Engineering
  • 2+ years experience with polyurethane chemistry, polyisocyanurate, spray foam in a batch or continuous manufacturing process
  • Experience with Lean Manufacturing, Design of Experiments (DOE), Statistical Analysis software, Product Management
  • Experience with heat exchangers, pumps, pneumatic valves, web handling, furnace IR heaters
  • Ability to troubleshoot problems, collect and organize large data set, draw conclusions, and provide recommendations to stakeholders
  • Ability to work independently, make-decisions, communicate effectively to internal and external stakeholders to ensure alignment and project is completed on time
  • Demonstrated ability to produce results within a collaborative team environment and develop productive working relationships at all levels of the organization
  • Strong verbal and written/digital communication skills 25% travel as needed
