General Job Description:
The Systems Engineer III will be responsible technical integration and success of Ophir projects from Development through Production ensuring that the design solutions satisfy Performance, Cost and Schedule requirements. This position requires an active U.S. DOD Security Clearance or the ability to obtain one.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Develop and manage program technical requirements
  • Develop detailed solutions for technical, operational and maintenance problems
  • Prepare System Engineering contract-specific specifications and drawings
  • Assists in vendor selection and RFQ process
  • Ensures successful completion of the assigned project phase within the budgeted time and cost constraints.
  • Provide input to technical proposals
  • Provide technical leadership for problem resolution
  • Participates in defining engineering approaches and in planning and scheduling tasks.
  • Provides mentoring and training to less experienced Systems Engineers
  • Other duties as assigned
  • No supervisory duties
Job Qualifications
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
  • Broad knowledge and experience in the Systems Engineering process
  • Familiarization with Program Management duties
  • Ability to accomplish diverse technical assignments with little supervision
  • Effective Communication skills to interact with technical and non-technical personnel
  • Able to establish and maintain effective working relationships
  • This position require an active US DOD Security Clearance or the ability to obtain one.
Education:
  • Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering required
Experience:
  • With a BS +7-11 years; with an MS +5-9 years; with a Ph.D. +4-8 years
Working Environment:
  • Work primarily in office or lab environment.
