Job Description:

My client is hiring a Network Engineer to support their Enterprise Infrastructure and are looking for a motivated Network Engineer that wants the opportunity to build upon their networking skills. As a Network Engineer you will also perform tasks in support of all aspects of IT infrastructure across all locations. They want a candidate with knowledge of the design, implementation, upgrades, and operation of all of enterprise infrastructure with strengths in Systems, Networks and Project Management.

 

Duties will include but are not limited to:

  • Administer computer and network infrastructure security and the associated data and access controls.
  • Collaborate and communicate with Network Architect for completing networking project portfolio items.
  • Conduct internal reviews of infrastructure components and recommendations for improvements.
  • Document all infrastructure, processes, and procedures.
  • Ensure high availability of all critical applications while meeting or exceeding Service Level Agreements (SLA’s).
  • Execute projects across the enterprise infrastructure with accountability for the project outcome through sound project management skills.
  • Perform patch updates and vulnerability remediation of computer systems and network components.
  • Support all Enterprise networks including routers, switches, and firewalls.
  • Support Data Center/Server Rooms and Cloud operations: Hardware and software system provisioning, configuration, monitoring/alerting, and administration of Linux, Windows, VMware/vSphere and Cloud computing.
  • Support Disaster Recovery planning, implementation, and operations of all business systems a plus: propose service levels, data types, recovery point objectives (RPO) and recovery time objectives (RTO) that align with a business impact analysis outcome to meet company objectives.
  • Troubleshoot complex interactions in storage, servers, networks, and databases in collaboration with other systems administrators and technical teams.

 

    Qualifications:

    All candidates must be a US citizen and have the ability to obtain a security clearence!
     

    Core Requirements:

    • US Citizenship
    • 3+ years of progressive technical (hands-on) experience related to systems development, implementation, and administration.
    • Ability to understand and act on the customer needs and priorities in a fast-paced, deadline driven environment.
    • Available for occasional off-hours outages and to take part in service restoration efforts.
    • Bachelor's Degree or higher in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or related technical field preferred (equivalent experience and certifications considered).
    • Experience as a Linux and/or Windows Administrator.
    • Experience with centralized authentication technologies such as Active Directory, NIS and LDAP.
    • Experience with network and system security administration, including operating system security configuration and account management best practices for Linux (CentOS, Ubuntu, RedHat), Windows Server, Windows clients, Microsoft Exchange, and Cisco Systems equipment.
    • Knowledge of at least one scripting language and automation.
    • Willingness to travel occasionally to other office locations.
    • Working knowledge of TCP/IP and Microsoft networking concepts with work experience in designing, deploying, and supporting Local Area and Wide Area Networks.

    Preferred Experience and Skills:

    • Cisco Certified Network Associate (CCNA) or equivalent certification
    • DoD 8570 Level II Compliant Certification (i.e. Security+, CASP or CISSP)
    • Security clearance or ability to obtain a security clearance
