Operations Technology and Automation Manager
 
Darigold is looking for an experienced and driven Operations Technology and Automation Manager (OT) to join our Operations team.  The OT Manager will be responsible for leading a team of OT and process control technicians to improve operational performance, support and enhance capability, and deliver and maintain technology systems in our manufacturing facilities.

Major responsibilities:
  • Provide leadership to enhance organizational capability through training, mentorship and operational support, and drive a cross functional high-performance work team environment, including plant and regional manufacturing technical resources, engineering, and IT.
  • Drive development and adoption of OT technologies across the manufacturing enterprise that improve sustainability and operational capability.
  • Lead implementation support for company process control applications, process data collection systems, automated warehousing systems, Manufacturing Execution Systems (MES), Environmental/ Health/Safety.
  • Work closely with Operations management to establish priorities, resolve technical problems, and maintain standardized documentation.
  • Develop detailed project plans and execute projects on time, in scope and budget that support operations goals and improve operational capability.
  • Lead and facilitate a collaborative environment to include internal resources and external vendors / consultants to deliver operational and project support to our manufacturing enterprise.
Essential Duties (other duties as assigned):
  • Develop, plan, and implement information and operations technology systems, including IT and network infrastructure, controls and automation systems, and integration of existing and new technologies.
  • Provide leadership in knowledge transfer and implementation of approved standards and practices for IT/OT systems, including network implementation, PLC’s and field devices, and IT systems.
  • Manage internal and external resources to deliver the highest quality, first class service to operations and other customers.
  • Provide leadership in troubleshooting and root cause analysis to effectively resolve issues and deliver sustainable solutions while enhancing resource capability.
  • Provide project management leadership including requirements gathering, project development, vendor management, proposal development and review, effective planning, and execution, on time, in scope and budget.
  • Facilitate and support the numerous manufacturing process and control systems within Operations, collaborating with Engineering, IT, Operations and Corporate management and vendor resources. 
  • Provide production support and maintenance for enterprise systems including Environmental Health & Safety, OEE and Plant Key Performance Metrics, Process Controls and Automation, reporting and analytics systems for Operations, and others as directed. 
  • Provide leadership and management of staff in all the above areas to include all supervision, performance management, career development, and all other personnel related functions.
 
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
  • Track record of strong people/team development.
  • Ability to establish and maintain relationships with all levels of the organization.
  • Strong written and verbal communication, including documentation standards.
  • Ability to consistently meet deadlines and see projects through completion.
  • Ability to travel up to 50%.
  • Strong troubleshooting skills with electrical and controls systems and programming.
  • Significant experience in PLC and HMI programming
  • Experience with controls power distribution layouts, panel layouts, hardware specification.
 
Education, Experience and Certifications:
  • 10+ years of experience managing and supporting controls and automation, and systems integration in a manufacturing, system integrator or OEM environment.
  • 4+ years of experience managing and supporting manufacturing process controls systems, networks, and infrastructure.
  • 3+ years of experience within industry as a practitioner and manager (Food and Beverage/Process Manufacturing).
  • 5+ years of experience managing manufacturing process control applications, supporting software and databases, support, and ongoing process improvement efforts.
  • 3+ years of experience developing and managing project plans, departmental and project budgets, and requests for capital.
