Washington State Department of Transportation (WSDOT) is currently seeking a Transportation Engineer 5 to serve as the Hydraulic Engineer for the Environmental Office, located in Spokane, WA. The position is the senior level professional engineer in the field of hydraulics, hydrology, and river engineering. In this role, you will review or prepare hydraulics reports, floodplain reports, and bridge scour evaluation for the Eastern Region and approve hydraulic reports from staff in all the Project Engineering Offices. The Hydraulic Engineer has the responsibility of developing and recommending policy statewide for roadway drainage, culverts, fish passage, river engineering and bridge scour. The successful candidate will also be independently responsible for writing contracts, various engineering reports for complex and unique hydrologic, hydraulic, and river engineering for Eastern Region projects including fish passage work.
